About Me

My name is Jael Jackson: Illustrator, writer, designer, storyteller, daydreamer.

Ever since I saw Blue’s Clues as a 4-year-old I knew I wanted to be an artist, so after high school I attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Florida and got a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration and Creative Writing. Even now, I’m still puttering down the “professional creative” road (aka: the road with no end). Sometimes my car breaks down and sometimes it zooms down the road with reckless abandon, but I’m having a blast either way!

I have kept on improving my art and writing, working in children’s book, graphic novels, chapter books, webcomics, art education, and UX design. I love bold line art, emotionally gripping character development, and distinctive color palettes. The thread that holds everything together, though, is my love for stories. I’ll always be looking for the story worth telling in any project I take on.
